Insurance coverage for cosmetic procedures
Most cosmetic surgery procedures are elective procedures intended for appearance enhancement, and as such, they're not covered by most health insurance policies.
However, when plastic surgery is intended for medical reasons, to correct a deformity, or as a rehabilitative procedure, many cosmetic procedures may be covered. In general, if the procedure you are considering fits any of the following criteria, it is possible that it would be covered by your health insurance policy:
