What is ethnic facial surgery?
As the popularity of plastic surgery escalates, more ethnic patients are becoming aware of the cosmetic procedures available to them.
Like Caucasian patients, those of Asian, African, Hispanic and other ethnic backgrounds also want to reduce the signs of aging, look more youthful or change a facial feature that they are dissatisfied with. However, most ethnic patients want to uphold their identity.
For example, Asian patients may want wider, fuller eyes while maintaining their ethnic almond shape. African American patients may wish to reduce the size of their nose without making it appear Caucasian or European.
If you are of an ethnic descent, you are generally more susceptible to scarring due to the brown pigments in your skin. Therefore you may want to consider less invasive surgical procedures first.
However, incisions are placed strategically to eliminate the appearance of scarring. Topical medications and pressure therapy can also reduce the scars over time.
All patients have distinct features and bone structures that will affect their outcome of their cosmetic surgery. There is no “standard” that Dr. Babak Azizzadeh uses for ethnic facial surgery. Each procedure is different, and each result—uniquely beautiful.
If you are considering cosmetic facial surgery and you live in the Beverly Hills area of California, please contact Dr. Babak Azizzadeh today.
