Facial Reconstruction
Facial abnormalities and deformities can be emotionally, psychologically or physically devastating to an individual, causing that person to have less self confidence and even start to withdraw from society. Reconstructive surgery alters the appearance of abnormal facial structures opposed to enhancing already normal appearances. This complex surgery often requires transfer of bone and tissue from other regions of the body to restore normal function and aesthetics. The transfer of these tissues requires microscopic attachment of arteries, veins and nerves in order to allow completion of the reconstruction. Dr. Azizzadeh has extensive training and expertise in these microsurgical procedures, also known as microvascular free flap reconstruction.
