What is ethnic facial surgery?
As the popularity of plastic surgery escalates, more ethnic patients are becoming aware of the cosmetic procedures available to them.
Like Caucasian patients, those of Asian, African, Hispanic and other ethnic backgrounds also want to reduce the signs of aging, look more youthful or change a facial feature that they are dissatisfied with. However, most ethnic patients want to uphold their identity.
For example, Asian patients may want wider, fuller eyes while maintaining their ethnic almond shape. African American patients may wish to reduce the size of their nose without making it appear Caucasian or European.
If you are of an ethnic descent, you are generally more susceptible to scarring due to the brown pigments in your skin. Therefore you may want to consider less invasive surgical procedures first.
However, incisions are placed strategically to eliminate the appearance of scarring. Topical medications and pressure therapy can also reduce the scars over time.
All patients have distinct features and bone structures that will affect their outcome of their cosmetic surgery. There is no “standard” that Dr. Babak Azizzadeh uses for ethnic facial surgery. Each procedure is different, and each result—uniquely beautiful.
If you are considering cosmetic facial surgery and you live in the Beverly Hills area of California, please contact Dr. Babak Azizzadeh today.

Can a nose job gone wrong always be corrected?
If a mistake is made during rhinoplasty surgery, or if you are disappointed with the outcome of your procedure, there is hope.
Revision rhinoplasty surgeries can repair nearly any nose job gone wrong. A revision rhinoplasty can be performed after the tissue has healed following your first rhinoplasty. Sometimes the problems are minor and easy to correct. However, if the problems are major, the revision rhinoplasty can be harder and requires more expertise than the first surgery.
This is because the normal anatomy is no longer intact after the first nose surgery and the nasal cavity now contains scar tissue. This makes it tricky to separate and reposition the remaining cartilage and bones. With the proper techniques, Dr. Babak Azizzadeh can make significant improvements and dramatic results can be achieved.
The ultimate goal is to create a nose that is natural, functions properly and is in harmony with the other facial features. Dr. Azizzadeh will reconstruct and reshape the supporting framework of cartilage and bone—and fix your nose once can for all.

Men vs. women: different cosmetic procedures
While women account for a majority of cosmetic procedures in the United States today, a man’s desire to feel better about his appearance should not be underestimated.
Our society today places a high value on looking young, fit and rejuvenated. As plastic surgery gains popularity, men of all ages are beginning to explore different options to maintain a youthful, attractive appearance.
Most men decide to undergo cosmetic surgery for many of the same reasons women do. They want to look and feel desirable and be successful in their professional and personal lives.
A man’s surgical goals often include:
Science reveals that a woman’s skin ages faster than a man’s. Therefore age-reducing procedures like Botox injections and facial reconstruction procedures are much more common among women than they are among men.
