Will my insurance pay for eyelid surgery?

Only if the upper eyelid has excess skin that is blocking eyesight the surgery is termed "functional." Lower eyelid surgery is never covered by insurance.

What makes eyelid surgery such an important part of facial rejuvenation?

When looking at someone's face, the immediate focus is on the eyes. As we age, excess skin and drooping can result in a "tired" look. Correcting this results in a more awake, fresh, and energetic look.

I've had eye surgery and never liked the result; can I still get a good correction?

The last surgery should be over one year ago to assess whether Dr. Azizzadeh can do corrective procedures. A consultation with Dr. Azizzadeh will reveal what can be done to improve and acquire the desired results.

Can dark circles under the eyes be removed?

Often times, "dark circles" are shadows/shades appearing under the eyes due to hollowness in the lower eye trough area. In this case, Multilevel Fat Grafting can offer significant improvement by adding volume and plumping the depressed area up.

Are there any non-surgery treatments available to correct eyelids?

Depending on the desired result, there are many options to improve the skin around the eyes. Some fillers may add volume under the eyes and make a dramatic change in looking refreshed.

Can this procedure be done in office?

Upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) can be done in office under local anesthesia. Recovery time is a few days, with minimal bruising and swelling.

How much does this procedure cost?

Upper and lower blepharoplasty, done as an in-office procedure is $4,000. Upper OR lower is $3,000. Done in a surgery center the cost is $6,000. Our quotes include all fees.

How much time do I need to take off from work?

You need at least 8 days to recover. After that, there might still be minor bruising and swelling left, which will subside and may be covered with make-up.
